Here’s a new episode of The Reddy Rundown, crafted so you don’t have to frantically follow everything in the AI news space wondering what you are missing as a an exec in 2025 trying to keep up
I am Shawn Reddy. CEO and Founder at AI Advantage Agency. I live in the space where systems meet storytelling. I care about what news means for how we plan, build, and ship marketing that moves revenue. Here is my read on a very loud week.
GPT 5 drama meets reality testing
OpenAI rushed a rollout. Users slammed rate limits. A routing feature broke. People asked for the return of 4o because they felt it had more soul. Then came the AMA with fixes and promises.
What this means for marketing
Do not anchor your roadmap to any single model flavor. Build a router and test sets so you can swap quickly when behavior shifts
Personality matters. If your assistants feel cold you will see softer engagement even if raw accuracy ticks up
Raise your own observability. Track time to first value, drop offs, and tone drift. Your brand voice is an asset, not a nice to have
Where I net out GPT 5 is faster and better at longer work, but reliability and tone are the battleground. Benchmarks do not buy trust. Consistency does.
The hedge fund story is a market signal, not a meme
An ex OpenAI researcher raised a very large fund and posted strong early returns by betting the picks and shovels. Power, chips, infra.
Marketing take
Board rooms will keep funding infra stories. If you sell marketing outcomes, tie your message to cost per outcome and time saved, not AI for AI’s sake
Make the CFO case simple. Clear unit economics beat shiny features. Prove reduction in headcount hours or higher pipeline lift with small pilots
Google and NASA are building an AI doctor for space
A medical assistant that can diagnose and guide care when Earth is out of reach. It runs on Vertex with open models like Llama and Mistral. Accuracy is improving. Data sources are expanding.
Why marketers should care
Safety critical use cases reset the trust bar. If space medicine can be explained and audited, your sales enablement and support content has no excuse
Adopt the pattern. Put rationale traces and decision logs into client facing flows. Trust is the new conversion lever
IBM and Lockheed remind us that data cleanup is the real unlock
Lockheed consolidated tools, built an AI factory on a unified data layer, and shipped faster.
Lesson for operators
Fewer systems, tighter governance, cleaner metrics. If your data model is messy, your agents will stay unreliable and your campaigns will stay slow
How I am adjusting my playbook this week
Keep 4o and 5 live in a router with a kill switch. Monitor tone and latency for every customer facing workflow
Add a visible trust layer. Show users why the agent decided what it did and how to escalate to a human
Run smaller proofs. Thirty day pilots with one measurable win beat grand rollouts that stall in meetings
Tools I am testing and how to use them
Lindy Agent Builder — https://lindy.ai Use it to auto prep meetings. Pull website and news for the next call, draft a follow up email, and push a one slide brief to your rep. Start with one vertical and templatize the output
Vanta AI Security Assessment — https://www.vanta.com Use it to calm enterprise buyers. Ship a short security packet that explains your AI data flow, retention, and incident process. Put the badge in your footer and in your sales deck
OpenAI GPT 5 and ChatGPT — https://openai.com Use it for long form strategy docs, research synths, and first pass brand narratives. Keep a tone checker prompt so the voice does not drift when the model updates
IBM watsonx.data — https://www.ibm.com/watsonx Use it if your org is drowning in siloed spreadsheets. Centralize marketing data and give your team governed access so agents can answer questions without scraping five tools
Google Cloud Vertex AI — https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai Use it when you need managed serving and evaluation for regulated clients. Build evaluation sets that score responses for safety, source use, and tone before you ship
One play you can steal this week
Meeting prep to pipeline. Point an agent at tomorrow’s calls. It pulls a signal table for each account, drafts a one page brief, and suggests one upsell or cross sell path. Rep approves with two clicks. Marketing reviews weekly to refine the prompt and the scoring. Expect faster follow ups and cleaner notes in the CRM.
I will keep sharing what actually helps us ship faster and sell cleaner. If you test any of the plays above and see a lift, reply and tell me what changed.
