Model Drama meets Funnel Math: what this week in AI changes for your marketing

Jul 29, 2025

“Here’s a new episode of The Reddy Rundown, crafted so you don’t have to frantically follow everything in the AI news space wondering what you are missing as a an exec in 2025 trying to keep up”

I am Shawn Reddy, CEO of AI Advantage. I think like a systems first marketer who now runs a company. My filter is simple. If the news cannot be wired into a funnel to lower cost, compress cycle time, or raise trust, I move on. Here is what actually matters this week and how I would use it.

1. China’s open source surge is now a pricing weapon

What happened Z dot ai released GLM 4 point 5, an open weights family positioned as a top open model across reasoning, coding, and agent tasks. They also open sourced their training framework. The cadence from China stays relentless. Qwen, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiniMax, and now this.

Why marketers should care Open models that reason and use tools well mean you can run real agents inside your stack with lower unit cost and fewer legal headaches about data residency. This lets you move from single chat to multi step assistants that push deals forward without sending data to a closed US cloud.

My move Pilot an on premise or private cloud agent that handles research, brief creation, and first pass outreach. Measure time to first draft and cost per researched account. If those drop, push the agent into daily production and keep a closed model for the high risk tasks where accuracy and security trump price.

2. Agent browsers shift from answers to actions

What happened Microsoft brought Copilot Mode into Edge. It reads your open tabs, suggests tasks, and will take actions with permission. Comet and other agent browsers are pushing the same idea. Search becomes sidekick. The browser becomes a control room.

Why marketers should care If the assistant can see your pages and click the buttons, the last mile of conversion moves inside the browser. That changes how you design landing pages, pricing pages, and checkouts. Expect fewer page views and more direct actions from assistants. Instrument events that assistants trigger, not only human clicks.

My move Ship a lightweight action schema on your key pages. Mark up book a demo, start trial, and request quote with clear ids and predictable flows. Create a short page specifically designed for assistants that exposes the three actions you want taken. Track assistant initiated conversions separately from human sessions.

3. Video models are getting cinematic and controllable

What happened Alibaba released Wan 2 point 2 for text to video and image to video. Better motion, camera control, and aesthetics. Finer control over lighting and color. It beat prior open models on common benchmarks.

Why marketers should care You can storyboard once and output many variants that match channel constraints without a full production. Creative refresh cycles can be days not weeks. That keeps performance from dying when frequency climbs.

My move Set up a creative pipeline that takes a single script and outputs three cuts for ads and one for landing page hero. Test cadence becomes every three days by default. Tie each asset to a unique offer id so you can kill losers fast and keep your attribution clean.

4. Voice cloning is now content infrastructure

What happened The ElevenLabs voice changer flow with a Veo generated video is a workable path to swap default voices for brand safe narration. CapCut makes the final sync easy.

Why marketers should care You can lock a signature brand voice across channels without booking a studio. That keeps your content consistent at scale and reduces the time from script to publish.

My move Create one primary brand voice and one regional voice. Build a short compliance checklist for legal clearance. Add a column to your content tracker for voice id so repurposing does not break tone.

5. Sales enablement is getting much faster

What happened Guidde automates step by step guides. Prezi AI turns rough notes into structured narratives.

Why marketers should care Friction at the handoff between marketing and sales kills deals. Fast guides and clean narratives cut onboarding time for reps and partners and keep product education current.

My move Every new feature ships with two assets by default. A one minute guide that shows the flow. A six slide narrative that answers who, what, why now, and how to try. Gate nothing. Make it easy to share.

My systems take

The pattern is clear. Open models reduce cost and expand where you can place agents. Agent browsers remove steps between intent and action. Video and voice tools cut production time. The winners are not the loudest brands. The winners are the teams that wire these parts into a measurable system and prove lift in the funnel.

KPI to watch this quarter Time from brief to live asset Assistant initiated conversions Cost per researched account First reply time on outbound aided by agents

Guardrails to keep you out of trouble Data residency for anything touching customer records A clear rollback plan for each model swap An audit note for every agent action that touches a deal

Tools I would test now and how I would use them

I am not paid by these products. This is how I would plug them into a real workflow.

GLM 4 point 5 by Z dot ai Use case Run a private research and brief agent that enriches accounts and drafts first touch messages. Measure cost per researched account vs your current stack.

Microsoft Copilot Mode in Edge Use case Expose standard actions on your demo and pricing pages so assistants can book meetings in one step. Track assistant conversions separately.

Alibaba Wan 2 point 2 Use case Generate three ad variants and a landing hero from one script. Push a refresh every three days. Keep a library of winning camera moves for reuse.

ElevenLabs Voice Changer plus Veo plus CapCut Use case Lock a brand voice and produce consistent narration for short form and help content. Store voice ids in your content tracker for easy reuse.

Guidde Use case Create support and sales guides that cut onboarding time for reps and customers. Embed guides directly in help articles and outreach.

Prezi AI Use case Turn sales notes into a narrative for first calls and partner pitches in minutes. Standardize the story without slowing reps.
